Wow, I can’t hold a topic long.

I did some looking around and I found [dead link] relating to Loop 101. This site lists deaths on the 101. It seems like on most of the ones where it tells the circumstances, the center cable barrier is involved. When will they step up and admit that it’s the real problem? Perhaps they are afraid of lawsuits if they admit that the highway was poorly designed. Also yesterday I was in a traffic jam on the 101 and a Scottsdale motorcycle cop was weaving through traffic cutting everybody off with no lights on. Driving like that isn’t setting a very good example, particularly if they are trying to tell me that my speed is the cause of all the accidents.

Also I remembered something else that needed ranting. Apparently a church bought the cow pasture behind my house in Ohio. First we had the industrial park with all of it’s buildings and traffic. But now we really know we’ve lost the neighborhood. I am trying to figure out what I should do in the back yard on Sundays. Nude sunbathing? If anyone can thing of anything that won’t get me arrested, let me know. Plus where do these churches get all this money? I have heard people say that if churches paid taxes then nobody else would have to. It’s probably true. Lets start taxing them.

If anyone needs an entertainment center that will fit at least a 27″ TV and complete stereo system, let me know. I have one for sale. It had to go to make room for the 92″ projection screen. Also if you are interested you can check out my latest [dead link]. I have an entire box of this sort of stuff. It’s not mine though. My friend Sean is paying me to sell all of this stuff on ebay. It seems like this stuff is pretty valuable on there. So we’ll see.

Eric and Amelia at The Vine

I wanted to have a picture so I went ahead and put this one. This is from last Thursday night and it features me with Amelia. As some of you know, Amelia was an exchange student from England and unfortunately she has to go back now. On Thursday some people went to The Vine to hang out before she left.

Probably the biggest news this week is that Scott bought a Sony projector. We have been watching it on the wall for now and we are in the process of constructing a screen for it. After we are done with our screen we will be hanging the projector from the ceiling, building an entertainment center from scratch, and setting up a multimedia server on Scott’s old G4.

I have also figured out a few things that really piss me off:

1.When people lack social skills so they post a personal matter, that would otherwise be between 2 people, on their blog. While I like to provide lots of social commentary from time to time, this blog will never turn into a place for that sort of behavior. Right now I am talking about it very generally because this issue has become pretty big on the internet I think.

2. When people end a phone conversation with no “bye”. Oh my god, I am starting to think that’s the rudest thing in the world. Don’t people have any manners? I’ll even be happy with a “later” or “take care”. If I tell you I need to go and I’ll talk to you later, don’t say “ok” and then hang up just like that. I never realized this was a problem until the past few weeks. It seems like everybody I know lost their manners.

3. Arizona police. I heard that these assholes are having some operation (with a trendy name as with all good propganda) that involves a zero tolerance policy on the 101. If people in high places would admit that the real cause for all of the deaths on the 101 is poor highway design (including those POS guard cables in the center that everyone jumps over) then we could save some lives. but instead some assholes have figured out that it makes the more money if they blame it on fast drivers. Now, I’m not against all speed enforcement. But I think that if you have to have a zero-tolerance policy then you are being a money-grubbing dick. My feelings are the same on the subject of photo-cop cameras. I’m not so offended by the red light cameras because people shouldn’t be running them (unless you are shortening the yellow light as has happened in some cities). The main problem is the speed ones. However they all violate our constitutional rights (mainly the right to confront our accuser) and also they are calibrated by a private company who has a financial interest in the results. On a brighter note, there is also now a zero-tolerance policy on throwing cigarette butts out the window. I think this is a great thing. The only problem is that I wish they had better reasons. These idiots are worried about brush fires. That sounds like a good thing to worry about. However, I have heard of motorcyclists getting them in their face masks which I think could kill somebody more easily than a hypothetical brush fire. Also were these people born in barns? Why would anyone think it’s acceptable to throw litter on the side of the road? They should have cracked down on this a long time ago.

4. When it gets late and I forget all of the good things I needed to rant about.

Oh, by the way, something that I do like is System Of A Down – BYOB…. witty, nice

I haven’t written in a little while so I thought I’d write something. Unlike many people, I don’t use my blog to converse and seek approval about every small detail of each day. I only write when something important happens. It just so happens that not much important has happened.

As most of you know, I am back in Arizona now. I have been climbing twice so far with my new 4 month pass to the rock gym. Scott graduated last week and Skip got promoted to district so I went to parties for each of them on Friday. Saturday through Tuesday were spent in Nevada at my grandma’s house. Last night (Tuesday), Scott and I went to a going-away get-together for Lauren (who is going to Europe for a while). Tonight I went to the AMA Spectrum Awards with some of the old AMA crowd. Then Scott and I went to Myst (in Scottsdale) to celebrate the birthday of his old neighbor, Annamaria.

My mom will be coming to town Saturday and I think Sunday I will be helping my uncle bleed the brakes on the Desoto. Speaking of brakes, I replaced my rear pads Saturday and they were doing great but now they have quite a squeal (which I need to look at sometime). Sometime this week, we plan to install Windows 2003 and set up our new domain controller. Also in the next few weeks we will be planning all of the work we need to do to replace my Sony Wega with a projection system. That’s pretty much all that’s on the radar.

I prefer to have something specific to write about, but there really wasn’t any one thing worth devoting a post to. I just wanted to let everyone know I am back and doing well hanging out with all of the Arizona friends. Also I have uploaded a few [dead link].
